That time I jetwashed the drive instead of ...

Hi Reader,

There’s a noticeboard on my wall that shows me exactly who is most likely to buy from me and when ...

It's sooooo simple ... literally just post-its. Each one for a real person - someone I’ve spoken to, someone who’s interested, someone who’s one conversation away from becoming a client.

Visible. Simple. Right there - and my one job each day is to actually use it.

Last Thursday, I was meant to follow up with those people ... and I jetwashed the drive instead. 🤦‍♀️

To be fair - part of it definitely needed doing. The bit near the front door was a liability and our postman was one wet leaf away from a lawsuit.

But most of it? That was the projects circle pulling me in.

Cleaning the drive was tangible, satisfying. I could SEE the results immediately. Clean drive: done. Tick.

The post-its don’t give you that hit. Following up feels invisible. Nothing looks different afterwards ... and yet it’s the thing that actually moves the needle.

The projects circle

This is the third and final circle in my Intentional Methodology - and the sneakiest one. (If you missed the first two, they are the life circle and sales circle)

Because hiding in your projects doesn’t look like hiding: it looks like working.

Which is exactly why it’s so easy to justify.

Sometimes it even IS necessary - but if you’re spending more time building, organising, and perfecting than you are selling?

Think: tweaking your website. Rewriting your offer. Colour-coding your Notion board.

👉🏻 That’s the trap.

Projects like those are there to support your sales. They can't replace sales.

The noticeboard exists so I look at it every morning and do the one thing that matters - check in with the people who need to hear from me and move things forward.

We're nearly a third of the way through 2026. 😲 Which feels simultaneously impossible and completely believable. I don't usually do the "here's what I've achieved" email because it can tip into braggy look-at-me territory pretty fast. But I've been reflecting on the year so far and there are a few things worth sharing if only because writing it down makes it feel real. So. Four months in. Here's (some of) what's actually happened. ✨ My email list has grown by over 50% since January. And the...

Last week I was on a training workshop with a brilliant content creator called Ruthie (if you don't follow her, you should) and she was helping us uplevel our sales pages. Ruthie has a brain like mine. She moves fast. And when she said "ok, draft something" ... she meant we had approximately 90 seconds. 😆 First exercise? My brain was still pretty focused on racing back into the house after an unexpected school run (anxious daughter that morning means I took her to school and stayed to chat...

*Tired sigh* These last few days have been ... a lot! 🙄 In our family, life is 'life-ing' in a way that feels very real and very unpredictable right now. And as a solo business owner? You know what I mean when I say that the unpredictability is tricky to handle. So here's what I'm doing (and not doing) to get through ... ✅ I'm showing up for my clients: 1:1 calls, group sessions - these are top of the 'keep doing' list. 👉🏻 Everything else is getting a ruthless renegotiation. Meetings...
